 Good afternoon team, 

We have another long run in front of us this weekend before we move into a recovery week. It looks like the weather will be next to prefect for us and we will conclude the run with a new coffee spot. 

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.  

 

Important Updates

We have a few thing in the mix that I wanted to give you an update on so we are all on the same page.

  • Receiving Text Messages: It has come to my attention that some people might have had some issue receiving text messages recently. We are working with our  vender and hope to have this issue resolved soon. If you or someone you know is experiencing this you can take the following steps. If you send the work BlackFlag (no space) to 619-393-2553 you will be opted back into the system. Additional if you ever miss a post you can refer back to this link (Click) which is a full library of all of our posts for the season. This is a surefire way to make sure you never miss any information.
  • Aaron will be out of town: As you know I rarely miss our training runs but a few times a year I have a conflict. You deserve to know that I will not be at onsite for the following two training days Tue 5/2 and Sat 5/6. The club will run as planned without any interruptions however I believe we could use some additional support on Tuesday 5/2 and maybe on Saturday 5/6. If you are open to helping out that day lets talk at the next run and come up with a plan.  

This Week’s Training

We are in Week 13 and concluded the 3rd Phase of the training. Next week will be a recovery week and then the last big push to race day.  That means we’re back UP again this week in both intensity and overall weekly mileage.  After a recovery week next week, you should be ready to get back out there with our longest training runs of the season coming in the following weeks.  Some notable items for each group:

  • Run/Walkers (ALL) – Nothing new this week in interval times or mid-week runs. Intervals are still 1/4 and 1/9 this week.
  • Run/Walkers (Half) – No change from last week in Days/Times. Long run will be UP to 100min
  • Run/Walkers (Full) – No change from last week in Days/Times. Long run will be UP to 120min
  • Intermediate HALF – No changes to mid-week runs. Long run will be UP to 11-12 mi.
  • Intermediate FULL – No changes to mid-week runs. Long run will be UP to 14-16 mi.
  • Advanced Runners­­­­ – No changes to mid-week runs. Long run will be UP to a Half 13mi w/ 5LT  or Full 20mi EZ run.

Detailed Meeting Locations

This is where we will meet on Tuesday and/or Saturday. Don’t get lost :)

 

Shelter Island, Shoreline Park / Fishing Pier

1720 Shelter Island Dr, San Diego, CA 92101

Will meet in the SW end of the fishing pier parking lot, which is about 1/2 way down the Island (heading South).  Please refrain from parking along the West side of the parking lot near the Pier & Store.

*This is a public fishing pier and park which is busy in the early weekend mornings, and we simply cannot take over the entire place.  There is PLENTY OF PARKING along the entire lot of shelter island.  Please walk some if you have to.  It may even warm you up :)
